What We Believe
As a church of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is head, it is important that we understand and express what it is we believe. This is known as a “Creed”, or that which expresses the scriptural basis of our Christian foundation and confessions.
The early Church fathers agreed upon different creeds based upon established church orders during different periods. The Apostles Creed has been generally accepted by the universal church as an expression of Christian belief. Therefore, what we, New Life Fellowship, believe is summed up in the Apostles Creed.
It shall be used, expressed and made visible to our congregation.
The following creed has been varied only slightly to meet the language requirement needed:
Statement of Belief
We believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary;
Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried
He descended into hell
The third day He rose again from the dead
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty
From thence he will come to judge the living and the dead
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sin,
The Resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting
